You may have heard in recent news about the recent approval from the BC Government of the Jumbo Glacier Resort in Jumbo Valley. The all-season ski resort is planned to be built in the Puccell Mountains, situated 57km west of Invermere, BC, with 23 ski lifts and a 3km gondala. The project has been through significant opposition for nearly two decades from First Nations, Environmentalists, skiers and wild life conservation on the significant impact the resort will have on the area.
The Jumbo Glacier Resort will cover approximately 6000 ha of land in the Pucell Mountains, BC.
The ACC over the years has given a strong voice against the development of the resort and again has sent a letter addressed to the Premier, the Ministier of Environment and Climate Change Strategy and Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development of British Columbia.
