A weekend of Competition Ice Climbing!

This weekend ice climbers from all around the globe will descend on Denver Colorado for the UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup. Representing Canada and sponsored by the ACC there are 7 men and 2 women and at two of them have a Winnipeg connection. Greg Ashcroft, current Manitoba Section member and Lyndsay Houston, former Winnipeger and ACC member now residing in Calgary. Good luck Greg, Lyndsay and team Canada!

If you want to catch the action live you can watch the speed finals tomorrow night and the semi-final and lead final climbs on Sunday! Check out the UIAA’s youtube channel for times and to set reminders!

Wishing you were going to Denver and feeling a little competitive? The St Boniface section has the answer with it’s annual Festiglace is held this weekend. This event is family friendly and open to anyone! Saturday there will be a men and women’s technical climb followed by men/women’s speed climbing!
