A Bluebird Rock Climbing Day in NW Ontario

Updated: Nov 15, 2021

On July 25, ten intrepid souls gathered to boldly climb the gorgeous granite of Panorama cliff. It was HOT – but no worries as belaying from the lake shore allows for regular and frequent cool dips not to mention kayaking. It also turned out to be a good day for hot yoga sessions as well. Five top ropes were set up with rock climbing routes ranging from 5.7 to 5.10a with Jenn doing an excellent lead of The Shadow (5.10a). The only incident was Kristy getting stung by a wasp. Fortunately she had no adverse reactions other than some nasty pain. Having said that, the wasps seem to really like a small inverted pocket left of bolt 2 of The Shadow.

Panorama cliff lends itself to an intense climbing workout, and today was no exception. Great climbing everyone!
